This itinerary offers a mix of adventure, relaxation, and cultural experiences while visiting some of Peru’s most iconic destinations. We will focus on the exploration of Peruvian culture and history with additions of extreme adventures, exciting cuisine, and a variation of activities that will test our boundaries and never leave us bored.

TRIP ITINERARY

Bienvenidos (Welcome) to Cusco, Peru. This enchanting and historic city is one of the highest elevation in the world and is at the heart of the Incan culture.

12:00 – 2:00 PM: Shuttle from Cusco International Airport (CUZ)

3:00 PM: Check into our charming and colorful rental with a stellar view of the historic old town of Cusco.

Enjoy some time to relax and rejuvenate – acclimating to the high elevation can take a full day.

5:30 PM: Explore the historic city center – enjoy a quick walk together through some of the city’s most notable landmarks.

6:00 PM: Welcome Dinner – Join together for our first meal. We’ll enjoy a meal at a Peruvian local restaurant featuring fresh, locally-sourced ingredients and traditional cuisine.

8:00 PM: Team building exercise – Drink Mate de Coca and a welcome activity. Mate de Coca is a traditional beverage made with Coca leaf that the Peruvians have used as a natural remedy for altitude sickness for hundreds of years. Gather in the house common area for a welcome session. Share your name, where you’re from, and your expectations for this memorable journey.

8:00 AM: Group Breakfast – Enjoy the first breakfast together at a local eatery that offers delicious hot drinks and Peruvian breakfast specialities.

9:00 AM: Get an oxygen therapy treatment at a local spa the day after arriving. This unique spa offers sessions in oxygen chambers that increase your oxygen blood levels alleviating the symptoms of altitude sickness, such as headaches and nausea. This oxygen therapy session will leave you feeling re-energized, refreshed and ready to take on your Peruvian adventure. As an alternate, this spa also offers Incan massage, specializing in ancient techniques and use of Incan herbs and oils.

1:00 PM: Lunch – Enjoy lunch together in the city between spa treatments.

5:00 PM: Evening Hike – In order to acclimate to the altitude even more, enjoy a small local hike to a gorgeous and picturesque viewpoint. This spot is known as one of the best views of the city and gain in elevation will help the group acclimate even more before the next day’s adventures.

7:00 PM: Group Dinner – Enjoy a wonderful meal at a well-known establishment. The restaurant focuses on regional and traditional cuisine that highlights local herbs, grains, and produce. This restaurant is traditional Peruvian with an elevated twist.

5:00 AM: Early morning departure for Machu Picchu with pick up from our stay. Board the scenic train ride with spectacular views to get you to the base of the incredible Machu Picchu. You will have some time to explore the lovely colonial city and get some breakfast. Then you will continue on for 30 minutes in a bus to reach the bucket list spot. Once in Machu Picchu you will enjoy a multiple hour in-depth guided tour with a local who dives into the rich and titillating history and culture of this breathtaking Inca citadel. After the tour, you will have some free time to explore on your own, snap some exceptional photos, and enjoy the 360 views. We will then join together at a local spot for a traditional Peruvian lunch.

Colonial City – Spend the night in a small colonial city in the heart of the Sacred Valley. Get the full immersed experience and stay in the Sacred Valley for an evening after the spectacular Machu Picchu adventure before returning to the hustle and bustle of Cusco.

5:00 PM: Check In and Room Assignments – Arrive back in the quaint city from Machu Picchu and get checked into accommodations in the picturesque valley town.

Free Time – Take some time to rest and rejuvenate after a long day of exploring one of the wonders of the world.

6:00 PM: Hot Springs – Soak in the thermal baths of the natural hot springs in this beautiful small town. With multiple different pools at different temperatures each, there will be a comfortable soak for everyone. Let the aches and pains from a long exciting day of adventuring melt off before enjoying a dinner together in the small city center.

5:00 PM: Evening Hike – In order to acclimate to the altitude even more, enjoy a small local hike to a gorgeous and picturesque viewpoint. This spot is known as one of the best views of the city and gain in elevation will help the group acclimate even more before the next day’s adventures.

7:00 PM: Group Dinner – Enjoy a delicious meal of traditional Peruvian foods focusing on local protein that is from the valley itself. Taste local delicacies such as alpaca and trout ceviche.

6:00 AM: Breakfast – Grab a quick breakfast and take a train back to Ollantaytambo where we will be picked up for our ATV adventure.

7:00 AM: Start the day’s adventure. Drive to the base camp, where a knowledgeable guide will do an informative safety presentation. Hop on the ATVs and start the journey into the breathtaking Sacred Valley to areas that are hard to reach by your average tour. The first stop is the Moray Archaeological site where there will be a guided tour amongst the ruins. After Moray, you will continue on to the quaint colonial town of Mara and the Salt Mines where there will be a short tour and free time to explore and take in these beautiful picturesque landscapes. You will also get the opportunity to purchase products made locally from the salt that is harvested at those salt mines. After a few hours of exploring these spectacular sites, you will ride the ATVs back to base camp and be transported back to Cusco.

1:00 PM: Group Lunch – enjoy lunch at a charming local cafe in the historic center of Cusco.

2:00 PM: Free Time – Use this time to relax and rejuvenate or grab some energetic folks from the group and go out to explore the beautiful and rich culture of Cusco before dinner.

3:00 PM: After an exciting morning of riding ATVs through the Sacred Valley, continue the extreme adventures at a location offering bungee jumps at over 120 meters, the highest in Latin America, and a slingshot that shoots you over 130 meters high in less than 3 seconds, these activities will surely get your adrenaline pumping.

7:00 PM: Group Dinner – Serving traditional Peruvian cuisine with a contemporary twist and beautiful presentation, this spot has an option for everyones

5:00 AM: Depart for the beautiful Humantay Lake – this incredible alpine lake is not for the faint of heart, with very high elevation, but the incredible views make the challenge well worth it. After a 2 hour drive there will be a stop for a Peruvian breakfast. After breakfast, the group will continue on to the trailhead sitting at 12,792 feet of elevation. They will then begin the 1.5 hour hike up to 12,779 feet of elevation to the beautiful and picturesque lake of Humantay. There will be time to relax and relish in your accomplishment while taking in the spectacular landscape of the clear turquoise water and the snow capped peak behind it. The tour will then start the descent back to the trailhead and make way back to a small local village for a well deserved lunch. From there, the group will continue back to the main city and the hotel accommodations.

5:30 PM: Relax and Rejuvenate

7:00 PM: Group Dinner – This restaurant was born to pay tribute to local ingredients. In this highly rated spot, you will find flavor, color and a lot of passion, in a cozy atmosphere that will make your visit an intense connection with Andean culture.

7:00 AM: Breakfast – Eat together at a delicious local cafe.

8:00 AM: Urubamba River Rafting – Pick up and drive to base camp. Spend some time learning about the itinerary and being taught safety measures by a knowledgeable local guide. Begin your rafting adventure down Peru’s magnificent Urubamba River that runs directly through the Incan Sacred Valley. On this amazing rafting adventure you will not only get the opportunity to be astonished by the beauty of the valley surrounding you but will also conquer a series of class III rapids with your guide. As the rafting portion comes to an end you will pull out of the river hungry for the included lunch after paddling through the rapids.

7:00 PM: Group Dinner – Enjoy a meal together at this well-known restaurant known for its fresh ingredients and mixing different cultures into one amazing menu.

8:30 PM Night Out Dancing in Cusco – Salsa and Bachata Lessons. On the second to last night together, the group (optional excursion) will head out to one of the highest rated discotecas for a lesson on Salsa and Bachata dancing. This famous bar is known for their lessons every single night, and their instructors are experts in the art. After the lesson, practice your skills on the dance floor with each other, locals, and other tourists alike.

8:00 AM: Group Breakfast – Enjoy a breakfast together on the last full day in Cusco.

9:00 AM: Ancestral Ceremonies with an Andean Shaman – transport will pick the group up and drive them 20 minutes to the Temple of the Moon. From there, a quick 15 minute walk through nature will have the group arriving at the ceremonial rock that has been used by the Shamans since the height of the Incan Empire. This special experience will consist of three different ceremonies that are guided by a local Shaman who grew up in a small village of Peru. These ceremonies will focus on tradition, history, culture, and the resources of the land. Some elements of the ceremonies will be a cleansing, using herbs from the land such as a coca, and a natural ceremony, giving thanks to Mother Earth. This experience will leave you feeling connected and in harmony with not only the beautiful nature surrounding you, but also yourself.

1:00 PM: Drop Off and Group Lunch – Enjoy lunch together at a local eatery

2:00 PM: Explore Saqsaywaman – Saqsaywaman, ancient Incan ruins, are some of the closest to Cusco. Take a quick 15 minute taxi ride from Plaza del Armas or a leisurely 45 minutes walk and you will be entering the ruins of the beautiful ancient citadel. Known as one of the greatest military bases/fortresses in the Incan Empire, Saqsaywaman is bursting with history and culture. Wonder through the ruins and immerse yourself in a different time. Most times you will even be able to visit with the many alpacas who make those ruins their grazing fields. Enjoy the views of the city before heading back down to downtown Cusco for the next exciting adventure.

Explore the ‘real’ Cusco – After exploring the Sacred Valley and the incredible nature in includes, the last full day will be to appreciate the culture of Cusco and it’s traditions.

4:00 PM: Free Exploration Day – without guide and timeline, explore and try new things as we please. San Pedro Market is the local open air market consisting of stalls that sell anything you can imagine. Your senses will go into overdrive with all of the colors and smells. This spot is for tourists and locals alike and you will not only be able to find an abundance of colorful souvenirs to bring home to your loved ones but also try some of the most authentic local cuisine and snacks. Locals recommend trying the fresh squeezed juices, the exotic fruits, or a variety of local specialty foods, such as lomo saltado. Whether you spend thirty minutes or three hours, San Pedro Market is something you won’t want to miss.

7:00 PM: Farewell Dinner – This place is all about traditional Peruvian food in a cozy setting. What’s a better way to say our farewells than joining together and celebrating the incredible adventure we shared while surrounded by Peruvian culture.

8:00 AM: Breakfast – Enjoy one last breakfast together before we head to the airport and say our goodbyes.
